Sunday trains ever more popular

May 30, 2011

Great to ride into Manchester yesterday and see that the train in both directions was full with a few people standing. Everyone knew the Sunday service would be popular, and it’s lovely to see it working out.

However, we can’t be complacent … Transport for Greater Manchester are funding the service until next May but from then on there is no guarantee the trains will continue – no matter how popular they are !

We ask all passengers who value the Sunday trains to write to your local councillors and stress how important the Sunday trains are for you and your community. Only by spreading the word to as many decision makers as possible can we hope to keep the Sunday trains running after next May.

It only takes a few minutes … please do your bit to help now

  1. The reason for the extra time is that Sunday trains now stop at Ince.

  2. Thanks John – we shouldn’t have been so suspicious ! Cheers, Neil (FOWS)
