Sunday service – timetable details confirmed

March 1, 2010

We are pleased to report that Northern Rail have confirmed the Sunday service timetable that will start on May 23rd.

The service consists of 9 trains a day in each direction, running back and forth between Wigan and Victoria.

Trains to Manchester will depart from Walkden at 0937 (arr. Victoria 0958) and then at 37 minutes past each hour until 1737.

As Salford Central station is closed on Sundays the train takes just 20 minutes to reach Victoria making it a really quick option – and green – for travelling into town.

In the Wigan direction the first train will leave Walkden at 1029 with departures hourly at 29 minutes past each hour until 1829. The service to Wigan is also very fast taking just 25 minutes to reach Wallgate station.

All services will call at Hindley, Daisy Hill, Hag Fold, Atherton, Walkden, Moorside, Swinton, and Salford Crescent.

Our thanks once again to GMITA and Northern Rail for teaming up to make this service possible.
